Recount of Pack Day
On the 26th of August the Year 8’s had Pack Day at Carterton School. This was so the students could get a good feel of what it would feel like wearing their packs up to Powell Hut.
At the start of the day the Year 8’s got their packs ready and they were weighing the packs to see how much their packs weigh. Then the Year 8’s went for a tramp around the park track wearing their heavy packs.
When they got back from their walk around the park track it was morning tea. During morning tea the Year 8’s were wearing their packs.
After that the Year 8’s learnt a bit about compasses in Whaea Michelle’s class. Then it was lunch time.
After lunch they made trail mix and then went for a hike around town with their packs on. This was so the students could get another good feel of what it would be like going up Powell Hut wearing their packs.
After this had finished they came back to school to finish off the day
Today was a fun day because it was amusing seeing people struggle with their packs.
