Camp Fundraising:

As you are aware we have a camp planned for Term 4.  At this point we can give you a very approximate cost of $240 per  student—therefore we wish to have a big push with our fundraising efforts in this term so we can reduce the cost per student. 

Thank you to those of you who have indicated that you will help with the weekly school sausage sizzle.  This starts this Friday.

Camp El Rancho

Letters will be coming home about camp so if you haven’t had anything by the end of the first week back, please contact me and I will email them to you directly.

Powell Hut / EOTC / Brooklyn Exchange

We have an extremely busy term again this term and I have added below all dates for EOTC outings etc below.  Please be aware that we will be having practice hikes for Year 8 students each week, some local and 3 needing transport.  These will be weather dependent and a letter will be going home this week giving out all information.  Once again if you haven’t received this by the end of the first week, let me know ASAP so I can get you a copy.

Important Dates [so far]

1. All Mondays from 12.45 to 3pm – PrEP will be running across the school
2. All Tuesdays from 10.20 to 1pm –Technolgy at Makoura College
3. Week 3 – Wed 5th – Yr 8’s EOTC – possible hike TBC Transport Needed
4. Week 3 – Friday7th  – Yr 8’s to Wai Col open day 1pm to 3.20pm [late back]
5. Week 4 – Matharapa some Yr 7’s/ Yr 8’s Transport Needed
6. Week 6 – Wed 26th Yr7’s EOTC Caving Mt Bruce Transport Needed
7. Week 6 – Thursday 27th Yr 7/8’s Rippa Rugby Tournament
8. Week 7 – Thursday 3rd / Friday 4th Yr 8’s Powell Hut Transport / Parents Needed for both – Yr 7’s will be participating in an outing TBC
9. Week 8 – Wed 9th Brooklyn Exchange for whole team Shared Lunch Needed plus any parents who can supervise sports etc.

Week 9 – Friday 18th PrEP Market Day all Whanau welcome to come along and participate in our market.

There will be 3 ‘Practice Hikes’ for Powell Hut.  These will hopefully be in Week 3 [already timetabled], Week 4 and Week 5. TBC Transport will be needed for these.  Our other walks will be from school.

Homework and Communication

· There will be weekly homework for our team set by a teacher.  This will be issued on Monday and due the following Monday / Tuesday.  This will include Spelling and Kiwi Kids News.

· There may be weekly homework by the Technology teachers.  This will be issued on Tuesday and due the following Tuesday.
